Making money is Easy with Zazzle

Zazzle.com is a great way for artists to market their work, after getting an account one simply uploads their artwork from their computer onto their Zazzle account and you can begin designing products such as shoes, shirts, ties, skateboards, and more!

Extra Cash

It is a great way to make a little extra cash, and it is possible to be able to make a living off of your Zazzle shops! It takes a lot of time and effort, but it is possible.

Original Designs on Products

Some things to keep in mind while creating your products to sell on Zazzle.com is to be original, people buying online rather than in stores hope to find products that are unique, that you probably won't find anywhere else. Don't just use clipart or copy off of other designs you have seen.

Product Tags

Also always use a lot of keywords when typing your descriptions in order for your products to be seen more on search engines. Make sure the keywords are relevant to your product though.

Advertise your Products

Publicize your Zazzle Store as much as possible by networking and posting new product updates on your social network pages like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and others. If people don't know you have a shop on zazzle then they can't buy stuff from it, so let everyone you know in on it! If you have your own website, be sure to list your zazzle store in your links there as well.

Organization is Key

Make sure your Zazzle Shop is organized and easy to navigate, use the category folders to separate different types of designs and products. If people can't find what they are looking for they will be less inclined to buy your products. Put your design on as many products as possible as long as the design makes sense and looks good on that product. You never know what people will buy, and sometimes it is the product you least expect that will sell.

Wear your Art

Another way to advertise is to buy a few of your own shirts or products and make sure you put your web address for your shop on your products, and then wear them. Carry them around, use them, and be your own walking advertisement!

Zazzle Tips

Be Creative and Original

Zazzle.com offers more than 32 million products. If you want to stand out you have to be creative. Stray away from clipart and other images already on the internet. The marketplace is flooded with clipart created products. Be sure to create your own images.

Be Organized

Create categories in the products section of your account settings before you create your products. When you are in the process of creating your products it will ask what category you would like them in your store. Categorizing your products makes it easier for your customers to find the ones they want. You can also select an image for your categories, as a preview of what products are in that section.

Image Resolution

It is recommended that you create your images with at least 200 pixels per inch or more. This ensures that the image can be printed to the actual size of the product, which is often 10 inches or more and is not printed blurry. Each product has its own specifications. Creating Products

To create a product on Zazzle first sign into your account. Hit the create button at the top of the page under the Zazzle logo. Choose which category of products you would like to create and then choose the product. A pop up page will show asking you to add an image or text. Add your image or text to the product and hit ok. You will now see a product with your image or text on it. Feel free to move your image to ensure the correct placement on the shirt. The default placement is center of the product. You want to ensure that your image or text fits the product well and is not cut off or missing anything. Once you are done creating hit the Post For Sale button that is in red text under the settings on the right side of the page. Then add the following:

Product Title
Description
Keywords / Tags
Select a Public category
Select your Store Category.
Set your royalty
Add Customization Option or leave blank

Then hit the Post It button. If everything was done correctly you will see a page saying your product posted. It takes several minutes to several hours for your product to show up within your store, as Zazzle needs to ensure that everything was done correctly and fits its guidelines before it shows up on your stores page.

Design fits the product

One of the biggest mistakes new people make on Zazzle is their images do not fit the products. They are either too small or too big. Often times the image is not set right on the product and the image is cut off. Be sure to read the Image Guidelines and to use the positioning tools when creating your products on the Zazzle page to ensure that your image fits the product correctly.

Promote your designs

Facebook, Twitter, and your own website are great places to start promoting your Zazzle store. Be sure to describe your store well and that you do not bombard your friends with promoting it. One or two links a day is plenty. Another great way to advertise your store is to order some of your own products to show to your friends and family. Often word of mouth is still the best and most effective form of advertising.

Acceptable Content Guidelines

It is very important that your designs adhere to the Zazzle guidelines. Stealing others artwork or infringing on copyrights is illegal and can get you in a lot of trouble and your products pulled from the marketplace. Below is the list of content guidelines provided by Zazzle.

To ensure that Zazzle continues to be enjoyed by everyone, Zazzle has a few rules that they ask everyone abide by. The following content is NOT PERMITTED at Zazzle:

No text or images that infringe on any intellectual property rights including, but not limited to copyrights, trademarks and rights of privacy/publicity
No text or images of obscenity, pornography or nudity that is not artistic in nature
No text or images that encourage or glorify drug use/abuse
No excessive violence
No content that is libelous or defamatory
No content that can reasonably be viewed as harassing, threatening, or otherwise harmful
No hate speech
No content that can reasonably be viewed as discriminatory based upon race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability
No content that violates or encourages anyone else to violate any law

Any products that are deemed unacceptable by the rules above, or deemed offensive or in bad taste at the sole judgment of Zazzle.com will have the products cancelled and removed from the Marketplace with or without notice.

New iPad 2 was announced this week, but that’s not what we featured today. Instead we found this neat iPhone case. It is a simple and elegant vector image of a tree with leaves. The cases that Zazzle sells have been said to fix the antenna problem with the iPhone according to Consumer Reports.

Creechers brings us a note card of a garden fairy sitting amongst the flowers, smiling back at you. Would work great as a Thank You note or a just because card. They are printed on ultra-heavy cardstock and each comes with a white envelope, so all you have to do is get a stamp and your set.

I have my product lines listed by their names "ie marigolds and not by product type ie mousepads. Do you think I should have them listed both ways or leave my product line the way it is featured? Thanks!

Either way is fine. I prefer to have them listed by subject. Because Zazzle gives us the drop down option of searching by type. Thus allowing us to search first by subject, then using the drop down for type, which narrows it done to just we want.

We featured a lot of posters today. Posters can add color to any room without damaging the walls. Great for dorms, apartments, and the office cubicle. A little gothic vampire in her pink dress with her wings hanging out, a wood cut style of vector featuring two wasps at the ready, and a poster to remind us that fantasy lives and can be found in the books we read.
Not looking for a poster today? We also featured a customizable return address label, a Spaghetti Strap top, and a mousepad. The return address label has a cute little plump cat smiling at you. Did you know today is National Margarita Day? The original Margarita was invented in 1948 by socialite Margarita Sames. According to the legend it was during a party at her cliffside hacienda in Acapulco that Margarita began experimenting with ‘the drink’. Looking for something to cut the dust of a hot afternoon, she mixed Tequila Herradura, Cointreau and fresh lime juice. Her cocktail kept the party going for two weeks and today the Margarita is the #1 most popular cocktail in the U.S.

We didn’t feature any Margarita gifts today but you can search the Zazzle Marketplace for them. We instead featured six great products added to the new marketplace today. The world has been a very crazy place lately. With the somewhat peaceful revolution in Egypt, the violent revolution in Iran, union worker stand offs in Wisconsin. Let us all pray for peace and hope it travels. Spread the word of Peace on Earth with these wonderful stamps by Laura Regan. Hopefully one day there will be Peace on Earth and we can sleep out under the stars without any worries.

Are you a dog lover? Do you have a pug? If you love pugs you will absolutely adore this smiling pug mousepad we found today. Lucy has a lot of wonderful dog gifts, but this one made us feel all sorts of good and happy on the inside. How can you say no to that? It is just too darn cute when a dog is smiling that big.

Have you seen the art of Adele? Her art is full of creatures from nature that have been anthropomorphized. Meaning the animals have been given human traits that are usually only regarded as a human quality. Such as wearing clothes, flying kites, protecting each other from the rain by holding a mushroom umbrella. We featured a postage stamp from her store today of a full mouse sleeping next to an eaten apple and apple worm looks at him pondering where his home went.

You really have to check out the lynneandjessica store. They are fairly new to Zazzle, but their stuff is wonderful. Hand drawn pictures of horses on note cards. Each card is very unique, but just as equally wonderful. Today we featured an image that brings up thoughts of Spring. The weather outside is slowly warming up and the grass is once again showing up from underneath the snow. Spring will be upon us soon. This note card of a horse running next to the river on a sunny day is sure to brighten any ones day.

The Westminster Dog Show takes place every year at the Madison Square Garden. After two long days of competition the Best in Show award was given today to a very unlikely breed, the Scottish Deerhound. It is the first time a Scottish Deerhound has been awarded Best in Show. The dog is named Hickory and will be retiring from the show competitions after this prestigious win. Hickory will be returning home to her farm in Virginia where her owners, Sally Sweatt, Cecilia Dove, and Dr. R Scott Dove hope she will give birth to a litter of puppies.

Egypt is fighting a somewhat peaceful revolution asking for President Hosni Mubarak to resign. The Human Rights Watch is reporting 297 people have been killed in the revolution, but for the most part the protests have remained peaceful and have even brought the two conflicting religions Christians and Muslims together. Each protected each other this week as they prayed for change. The protest continues on as Mubarak refuses to leave his post as president until the election later in the year. The United States watches on through CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and others as we wonder what will happen and hope it is a peaceful turn towards a democracy.

Today on Zazzle Tops we featured six of the best new wolf products. From postcards to magnets. The majestic wolf, the great hunter of Northern America. Their numbers continue to rise in their sanctuary in Yellowstone. Which is debated as a good and bad thing. Their numbers are growing and keeping the species alive, but now the wolves are over feeding on the other nearby wildlife.

How to Sell on Zazzle

Zazzle.com is a great way for artists to market their work, after getting an account one simply uploads their artwork from the computer onto their zazzle account and you can begin designing products such as shoes, shirts, ties, and skateboards!

Its a great way to make a little extra cash and I have heard tell some people are actually able to make a living off of their zazzle shops! I'm not there yet, but I am working on it!

Some things to keep in mind while creating your products to sell on Zazzle is to be original, people buying online rather than in stores hope to find products that are unique, that you probably won't find anywhere else. Don't just use clipart or copy off of other designs you have seen!

Also always use alot of keywords when typing your descriptions in order for your products to be seen more on search engines. Make sure the keywords are relevant to your product though. Publicize your zazzle page as much as possible by networking and posting new product updates on your social network pages like facebook, myspace, and twitter. If people don't know you have a shop on zazzle then they can't buy stuff from it, so let everyone you know in on it! If you have your own webpage, be sure to list your zazzle store in your links there as well.

Make sure your Zazzle shop is organized and easy to navigate, use the category folders to separate different types of designs and products, if people can't find what they are looking for they will be less inclined to buy your products. Put your design on as many products as possible as long as the design makes sense and looks good on that product, you never know what people will buy, and sometimes its the product you least expect that you will sell.

Another way to advertise is to buy a few of your own shirts or products and make sure you put your web address for your shop on your products, then wear them. Carry them around, use them, and be your own walking advertisement!

Be Creative and Original
Zazzle offers more than 32 million products. If you want to stand out you have to be creative. Stray away from clipart and other images already on the internet. The marketplace is flooded with clipart created products. Be sure to create your own images.

Be Organized
Create categories in the products section of your account settings before you create your products. When you are in the process of creating your products it will ask what category you would like them in your store. Categorizing your products makes it easier for your customers to find the ones they want. You can also select an image for your categories, as a preview of what products are in that section.

Image Resolution
It is recommended that you create your images with at least 200 pixels per inch or more. This ensures that the image can be printed to the actual size of the product, which is often 10 inches or more and is not printed blurry. Each product has its own specifications. Creating Products
To create a product on Zazzle first sign into your account. Hit the create button at the top of the page under the Zazzle logo. Choose which category of products you would like to create and then choose the product. A pop up page will show asking you to add an image or text. Add your image or text to the product and hit ok. You will now see a product with your image or text on it. Feel free to move your image to ensure the correct placement on the shirt. The default placement is center of the product. You want to ensure that your image or text fits the product well and is not cut off or missing anything. Once you are done creating hit the Post For Sale button that is in red text under the settings on the right side of the page. Add your title, description, and keywords. Select the category that best fits the product and the category where you would like your product to be on your store. Set your royalty and decide whether you want people to be able to customize your product or not. Then hit the post it button. If everything was done correctly you will see a page saying your product posted. It takes several minutes to several hours for your product to show up within your store, as Zazzle needs to ensure that everything was done correctly and fits its guidelines before it shows up on your stores page.

Design fits the product
One of the biggest mistakes new people make on Zazzle is their images do not fit the products. They are either too small or too big. Often times the image is not set right on the product and the image is cut off. Be sure to read the Image Guidelines and to use the positioning tools when creating your products on the Zazzle page to ensure that your image fits the product correctly.

Promote your designs
Facebook, Twitter, and your own website are great places to start promoting your Zazzle store. Be sure to describe your store well and that you do not bombard your friends with promoting it. One or two links a day is plenty. Another great way to advertise your store is to order some of your own products to show to your friends and family. Often word of mouth is still the best and most effective form of advertising.

Acceptable Content Guidelines
It is very important that your designs adhere to the Zazzle guidelines. Stealing others artwork or infringing on copyrights is illegal and can get you in a lot of trouble and your products pulled from the marketplace. Below is the list of content guidelines provided by Zazzle.

To ensure that Zazzle continues to be enjoyed by everyone, we have a few rules that we ask for everyone to abide by. The following content is not permitted at Zazzle:

No text or images that infringe on any intellectual property rights including, but not limited to copyrights, trademarks and rights of privacy/publicity
No text or images of obscenity, pornography or nudity that is not artistic in nature
No text or images that encourage or glorify drug use/abuse
No excessive violence
No content that is libelous or defamatory
No content that can reasonably be viewed as harassing, threatening, or otherwise harmful
No hate speech
No content that can reasonably be viewed as discriminatory based upon race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability
No content that violates or encourages anyone else to violate any law

Any products that are deemed unacceptable by the rules above, or deemed offensive or in bad taste at the sole judgment of Zazzle will have the products cancelled and removed from the Marketplace with or without notice.
